Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an IT SecOps Engineer to sit remotely for a large reinsurance client. This role will join the IT Security team and will be responsible for leveraging security operations experience to oversee and enhance proactive defenses and incident response capabilities. The engineer will work closely with Security and other IT practice leads to ensure detection logic, incident response workflows, data quality, and automation are continuously improved and effectively managed. This role entails strategic planning, research, testing, and implementation of new solutions, as well as the operation and maintenance of existing solutions. Approximately 65% of the role will focus on operational escalations and working with business users, while 35% will involve new project work as additional toolsets are introduced. Role responsibilities include refining detection logic and improving alert fidelity across platforms such as CrowdStrike, Taegis, and Varonis, as well as enhancing incident response workflows and updating runbooks to reflect current tooling and evolving threat scenarios. The role will also perform gap analysis and coverage mapping to ensure security data quality, log integrity, and timestamp accuracy, and will implement security automation and orchestration to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency. Additional duties include conducting alert reviews and enforcing timely and effective incident investigations, formalizing collaboration between offensive and defensive security teams to integrate findings into detection logic and strengthen overall security posture, and performing end-to-end security incident response, including triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis. The role will also monitor and assess AI-driven tooling and platforms to ensure compliance with governance policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.

Required Skills & Experience
-7+ years’ experience within IT Security Operations
-5+ recent years’ experience as an Engineer within IT SecOps
-Proficiency with SIEM, EDR and Infrastructure as a Service
-Some knowledge/ experience developing and enforcing AI governance frameworks and monitoring AI driven tools for compliance with regulatory and organizations standards
-Strong communication and ability to interact with high level management
