Job Description

An aerospace and defense technology organization is seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer II to support the development of advanced electronic systems used in mission-critical space and defense applications.

This is a highly technical role focused on board-level design and full product lifecycle ownership, working on systems that require precision, reliability, and rigorous engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit boards
Perform schematic capture and PCB layout/routing
Conduct circuit simulation and analysis (LTSpice or similar)
Execute electrical analysis (operating stress, worst-case scenarios)
Support integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of hardware systems
Generate and maintain technical documentation and design packages
Conduct risk analysis (FMECA, fault-tree, reliability assessments)
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams


Product Lifecycle Involvement
You will support all phases of development including:

Requirements definition
Concept development
Detailed design and implementation
Testing and integration
Ongoing product support

Required Skills & Experience

- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on circuit design experience
- Experience designing hardware in regulated or high-reliability environments (such as aerospace, defense, medical device, or automotive safety systems) is required

Experience with:
- Analog, digital, or mixed-signal design
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice or equivalent)

- Strong hands-on debugging and troubleshooting experience using lab equipment
- Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Altium (v20+) or similar ECAD tools
Experience with applicable standards (IPC, DOD, SAE, IEEE)

Knowledge of:
FMECA / fault-tree analysis
FPGA, VHDL, or embedded C

Exposure to environmental or qualification testing
