Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Land Survey team in either our Plainville, CT or New London, CT office. This position is responsible for leading field survey crews and overseeing the execution of boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The Survey Crew Chief serves as the field lead, ensuring accurate data collection, proper equipment operation, and adherence to project requirements and safety standards.
What You'll Do
Lead and manage a survey crew performing boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations.
Collect field data, perform calculations, and maintain accurate field notes and records.
Research deeds, easements, right-of-way documents, record maps, plans, and other survey records.
Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in boundary and construction surveying.
At least 5 years of experience managing a survey field crew.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Proficiency with GPS equipment, Robotic Total Stations, and Carlson/AutoCAD software.
Knowledge of professional surveying practices, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations affecting land surveying and boundaries.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Connecticut and surrounding states as needed.
