Job Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support validation and test activities within the Hot Section Module Center (HSMC), focused on F135 turbine engine programs and depot engine initiatives based in Connecticut. This individual will act as a central coordinator across engineering, test, and program teams, ensuring validation efforts, hardware readiness, and test execution are aligned and progressing on schedule.

This role functions as a version of a project engineer/project manager, with responsibility for driving communication, tracking validation progress, and supporting budget and test planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for validation and test coordination across CIPT, IPT, and cross-functional teams
- Support engine validation efforts for hot section components (combustor, turbine, diffuser, nozzle, exhaust)
- Track and report test progress, findings, and action items to leadership (CIPT)
- Coordinate and disseminate inspection data (e.g., borescope results) to relevant teams
- Support test readiness and execution, including hardware availability and scheduling
- Assist with hardware ordering, tracking, and logistics for engine testing programs
- Plan and coordinate inspection activities for depot engines, including teardown and detailed assessments
- Drive quick turnaround of test results (expected 1–2 day reporting cadence)
- Support Alpha reviews and future program planning (next-year proposals)
- Assist in requirements roll-up and validation planning for future engine programs
- Interface with multiple sites (East Hartford, Middletown, OKC, potential FL-based support)

Required Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of experience in project engineering, validation activities or test engineering
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field
- Exposure to turbine hardware or hot section engine parts (nozzle, combustor, diffuser, exhaust, airfoil, etc)
- EVMS (earned value management system) experience
- Experience coordinating across different teams and stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Background in engine testing, validation, or borescope initiatives
- Prior Pratt & Whitney EVMS experience is a nice to have
- Understanding of thermal/heat transfer and durability concepts
- Experience supports hardware procurement or testing logistics
