Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Connecticut Licensed Land Surveyor to lead and grow our Survey Department. This role is ideal for a survey professional who wants to build a scalable, revenue‑generating practice within a multidisciplinary engineering firm. You won’t just manage crews—you’ll create a full survey division that supports structural, civil, MEP/FP, and field services teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Leadership
• Establish survey standards, procedures, and QA/QC protocols
• Recruit, train, and manage field crews and technicians
• Oversee scheduling, production, and resource allocation
Business Development
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Prepare proposals and fee estimates
Financial Management
• Develop and manage the department budget
• Drive revenue growth and target profit margins
• Set annual growth goals with leadership
Technical Execution
• Sign and seal survey documents
• Oversee boundary determinations and ALTA surveys
• Support engineering teams with survey control and layout

Required Skills & Experience
- PLS License (Professional Land Surveyor License)
- 2+ years of post-licensure experience managing survey crews and production
- Is comfortable signing and sealing boundary, topo, and ALTA surveys
- Has construction layout experience
- Understands departmental budgeting and utilization
- Is interested in growth, not just technical execution
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Has existing client relationships in Connecticut
- Experience building a surveying team
