Job Description

The Network Engineer III position is responsible for designing, link engineering and implementing capacity onto the existing DWDM network. This role is also responsible for effectively communicating with internal order management personnel and various internal teams on the progress of the capacity fulfillment. The Network Engineer III is also responsible for meeting/exceeding daily and weekly performance targets.

• Responsible for design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment throughout the U.S and Canada.
• Work with Project Managers and Design and Implementation Engineers when issues arise during capacity projects.
• Network Engineer III designs DWDM network per Network Architectures standards and future growth of our network and customer base. Implement circuit designs for the core of the network as needed.
• Network Engineer III provides direction in the circuit design function of the Engineering Department for orders with transport and facilities required to meet identified circuit requirements.
• Reviews capacity request for correctness and clarifies any design related items back to the responsible departments.
• Maintains specific customer commitments and deadlines in (Salesforce or future system used) database. Provides project status updates on the order when necessary for the project management groups.
• Provides support to field operations to resolve provisioning problems; reviews and verifies technical data in an effort to project issues.

Duration: 12 month contraction, extensions and FTE conversion possible
Pay: $51/hour
Location: Remote, US

Required Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with majority of the below products:
• Optical Systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, Nokia
• Salesforce, ServiceNow, Sitetracker equivalents
• Telecom inventory systems, Metasolv is a bonus
• Microsoft Office and Google programs, specifically Visio, Excel or G equivalent
• Working knowledge of optical systems and signal flow designs through fixed or flex grid networks using ROADM technology.
Experience using Microsoft Office or Google programs and project management software. Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in controlled situations. Deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables
