Job Description
Day to day:
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer with strong React, ReactJS and TypeScript expertise and experience in streaming and Smart TV application development. This role will initially focus on a major, multi-year company-wide code 'convergence' project of the company's streaming platforms, and upon completion of this project, you'll be assigned to other projects that will enhance the performance of multiple CTV devices for customers, while using Svelte as the main framework. You will be repsonsible for maintenance work, new feature development, working through tickets, bug fixing, etc. This is a hands‑on role that requires someone who is proactive, highly communicative, and able to work independently.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work jointly with Product, QA and Backend teams to delivery a best-in-class user experience to entertain millions of users
- Design/implement features that anticipate failure and corner cases
- Maintain detailed documentation on features, flows and processes
- Effectively communicate and document progress via Jira, Slack and Confluence
- Work with a variety of OTT devices like Set Top Boxes and Connected TVs LG webos, Samsung Tizen, Vizio smartcast, Hisense Vidaa+, PS4, PS5, Xboxone, etc.
- Take ownership and responsibility for your work
- Attend and give feedback in code review sessions
- Capable of working in a fast-paced agile environment
- Contribute to the Convergence initiative, which includes:
○ Supporting a major release
○ Maintenance and stabilization after release
○ Bug fixes and refactoring
○ Select new feature development
- Perform frontend development across interfaces, browsers, and application pages
○ Work may span different features and pages across the client's streaming apps
- Refactor existing components and fix bugs (approximately 50/50 split during convergence)
○ Post‑convergence: focus shifts to new feature development (~80%) and maintenance (~20%)
- Develop and optimize applications for Smart TV platforms, including performance considerations for older devices
- Test applications independently on Smart TV devices using a remote device lab (no hardware‑level development required)
- Collaborate closely with Test Engineers to resolve issues and support releases

Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of frontend software development experience, specifically with ReactJS
- 1+ years Typescript development experience
- Previous streaming industry experience; experience working with OTT Connected TV / Smart TV / Embedded Devices app development experience
- Experience integrating REST APIs, ability to quickly pick up new APIs/SDKs (collaborating with 3rd party tools)
- Experience working with tools like nx, rspack, vite, webpack (any one is fine)
- OTT Connected TV / Smart TV / Embedded Devices app development experience
- Strong ability to troubleshoot / debug issues
- Deep knowledge and understanding of web browser rendering and UI performance optimization
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting front end analytics
- Experience developing and supporting high traffic consumer or business applications
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Svelte web application development experience
- Experience in high performant application which is capable of running in low resource powered devices
- Experience building streaming video applications
