Senior Mechanical Engineer

An employer sitting in Simi Valley, CA is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer that will be required to be onsite full time. This person will be assigned to their Group 3 UAS product. He/she will be required to apply their knowledge of composite airframes and carbon fiber airframe development. He/she will not only be apart of the design but will also be very hands on with the product on the production floor working with other disciplines. This role might involve some travel to Yuma, AZ for flight testing as needed. He/she will be working on a team of 20-30 alongside 6 other Mechanical Engineers. He/She will be directly reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager onsite in Simi. This line of business has a variety of different products including a quadcopter, mutliple UAS/UAV's, and a space program. This role will also involve some GD&T work, utilizing Solidworks for design and sending out modifications to the subcontractor. This role is paying between $125-155k depending on years of experience and qualifications.

- 6+ years of Mechanical Engineering, working with UAV/UAS products and/or designing airframes
- Experience handling carbon fiber airframes and composite materials
- Experience utilizing Solidworks for designs, flight testing and understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc).

- GD&T experience
