Job Description
The Estimator II supports Fabcon’s contract manufacturing business by independently reviewing RFQs, drawings, and BOMs to create accurate cost estimates for labor, manufacturing, and operations. This role focuses on complex assemblies, sheet metal fabrication, and projects supporting large data center customers.
Key Responsibilities
Review RFQs, customer requirements, drawings, and BOMs to develop detailed cost estimates
Create labor models and manufacturing cost estimates for complex assemblies and sheet metal parts
Evaluate project scope, pricing, risk, and manufacturing feasibility
Develop manufacturing routings, including work centers, setup times, and labor hours
Ensure routings accurately reflect shop floor execution
Enter and maintain estimates and routings in the ERP system (Global Shop)
Partner with programming, operations, and sales to validate estimates and routing assumptions
Support sales-driven estimating for large, complex customers

Required Skills & Experience
5–10 years of experience in cost estimating within contract manufacturing
Strong background in complex assembly and sheet metal fabrication (2+ years minimum)
Ability to independently interpret complex drawings, including GD&T
Experience reviewing and estimating from BOMs
Solid understanding of labor modeling, manufacturing processes, and operations costing
Proficiency with Excel and estimating software
Experience using ERP systems (Global Shop preferred; training provided)
Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent)
Comfortable working with large enterprise or data center customers
Degree not required
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting sales-driven or customer-facing estimating
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
