Job Description

Location: San Jose, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 2-4 Month Contract
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Quality Manager to provide onsite leadership and operational support for their quality organization during a temporary leave of absence. This individual will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality operations, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and supporting manufacturing activities within a highly regulated environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution and operational oversight rather than long-term strategy development.
Responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Quality department at the San Jose facility.
• Provide direct oversight and support to the Quality Control team and associated quality personnel.
• Manage a team of approximately 5-6 direct reports, including quality leadership staff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for site quality operations and communicate updates to senior leadership.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and efficient workflow.
• Monitor quality metrics, address operational challenges, and drive issue resolution.
• Support ongoing compliance efforts and adherence to quality standards within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Ensure alignment with corporate quality initiatives and site objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Management, Quality Engineering, or Quality Leadership roles.
• Experience leading teams within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
• Aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.
• Proven experience overseeing Quality Control and Quality Engineering functions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide immediate operational support in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Experience
• Medical device manufacturing.
• Metals manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Familiarity with ETQ or similar QMS platforms.
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.

Compensation: $60-68/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
