Job Description

We are looking for a part time Sr Electrical Designer with 5-10 years of experience, working 10-15 hours a week with the opportunity to work more!

The market in Battery Solutions is growing and this company is looking to grow with the additional of part time resource with specific experience in Battery Energy Storage System design and engineering, codes, NFPA 855, NEC 2023, California Building and Energy Codes 2026, NESC, and preparation of Construction and Permit Drawings.

Acts as a subject matter expert on BESS technologies, including batteries, inverters, controls, and grid integration. You’ll bridge product development teams and regional project engineering efforts to ensure technical excellence and consistency across projects. This isn't a manufacturing role but one that will work with civil engineers, with a strong understanding of codes and standards and can implement in CAD drawings.

Responsibilities:
1) Prepare electrical plans layouts for project equipment, coordinate with Civil and other disciplines.
2) Prepare Single line Diagrams,. Wiring diagrams, panel schedules, labeling ,
3) Prepare Grounding, Details wiring, electrical details,
4) Prepare Communications diagrams and wiring
5) Prepare Equipment List and Bills of Materials.
6) Review and coordinate with client BESS equipment options, Communications, Energy Management Systems, and auxiliary systems

Extras – EIT, P.E. not required, Project Management, Construction Management, Commissioning, Solar, Substations, Controls, testing, Operations

Required Skills & Experience

5-10 years of experience
Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems
Hands-on experience with utility-scale BESS plant engineering (sizing, modeling, design tools).
Exposure to product development, testing, and qualification workflows.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards.
