Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Quality Technician - Metrology Inspector for a leading provider of complex composites, assemblies, and tooling in the aerospace industry. This is a direct hire role, located in San Diego, CA. Job responsibilities will include:
- Perform advanced metrology inspections in an aerospace manufacturing environment, including laser tracker and PCMM inspections, machine alignments, and reverse engineering
- Generate customer‑specific inspection documentation such as Drawing-Based, First Article (FAI), Model-Based Definition (MBD), and dimensional inspection reports
- Support tooling build and assembly activities by providing precise measurement, alignment, and verification solutions
- Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to manufacturer specifications, ensuring accuracy, performance, and cleanliness
- Serve as a subject matter expert by recommending metrology solutions, supporting customer applications, and assisting with technical quotations
- Provide technical and non-technical guidance and training to team members to support team development and capability growth

Required Skills & Experience
High School Diploma
3+ years of expereince as a quality technician in the aerospace industry
Strong experience with laser tracking
Experience with Verisurf software
Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to manufacturer specifications
Great communication
Able to be onsite in San Diego, working a 9/80 schedule
