Job Description
We are seeking a Plant Operator to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of facility systems and plant equipment. This individual will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pumping systems while helping ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pumping systems throughout the facility.
• Perform routine inspections, equipment rounds, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and system issues to quickly identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor BAS/BMS systems, respond to alarms, and make operating adjustments as needed.
• Support the operation and maintenance of boilers, chilled water systems, air handling equipment, pumps, valves, piping, and related plant infrastructure.
• Record equipment readings, operating conditions, and maintenance activities to ensure proper system performance.
• Partner with vendors and maintenance personnel to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Manage work orders and maintenance requests through the CMMS system.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental requirements, and hazardous material handling guidelines.
• Understand emergency response and escalation procedures for critical facility systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment while supporting ongoing facility operations.
Ideal Background
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment and be comfortable troubleshooting a variety of mechanical systems. Candidates who have worked around boilers, pumps, HVAC systems, and other critical facility infrastructure—and who enjoy being a hands-on problem solver—will be especially successful in this role.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–10 years of plant operations, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing facility experience
• Strong troubleshooting experience with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pump systems
• Experience working in industrial/commercial environments (not exclusively office buildings, residential only will not suffice)
• Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Universal EPA Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Controls/building automation experience
• Experience with boilers, pumps, and critical facility infrastructure
• Experience supporting manufacturing plants, hospitals, federal facilities, data centers, or other mission-critical environments
• Experience with Raypak boilers or similar high-efficiency boiler systems
