Job Description

As the General Maintenance Technician, your daily duties for this role will include:

• Providing an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the buildings and facilities equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Supporting the daily functions within our maintenance department. Performing routine preventive maintenance (PMs) and basic repair of facility equipment (internal building structure such as walls, doors, ceiling, and floors, eye wash stations, re-lamping of internal and external light fixtures, docks and levelers, and electrical systems where a trade license is not required).
• Ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
• Analyzing equipment failures. Inspecting, replacing, altering, and maintaining all building services and related equipment. Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and performing required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
• Troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems, pumps and motors, R.O. systems, etc.
• Troubleshooting and repairing air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, and motors.
• Performing plumbing repairs where a trade license is not required.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues where a trade license is not required.
• Performing functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.

As the General Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements 

•  High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Three years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities and/or equipment in an industrial environment; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards. 
• Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
• Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
• Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, various shifts, rotation, and alternative work schedules.
• Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include: 

• Regularly lift to 50 lbs. 
• Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding 
• Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement 
• Walk or ride bicycle extensively throughout the plant during shift 
• Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions 
• Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding 
• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. 
• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment. 
 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing facility mechanical systems and equipment, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, overhead and service doors, etc.
• Experience with a CMMS program and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
