Job Description

This role is a month-long contract with possibility of extensions. Location on site in San Diego, Monday through Friday 7-3:30pm. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of biomedical and laboratory equipment, including ventilators, infusion devices, patient monitors, and other electronic instrumentation.
Key responsibilities include:
-Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment calibration
-Diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues at the component level
-Ensuring all equipment meets safety and manufacturer specifications
-Managing documentation, inventory tracking, and maintenance records
-Supporting equipment evaluations, upgrades, and replacement recommendations
-Collaborating with vendors when needed and providing guidance to junior technicians
-Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

1–3 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment

Associate degree in electronics

Certifications: CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician, Manufacturer training/certifications

Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical equipment

Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic flowcharts

Understanding of Healthcare regulatory standards (TJC, AAMI, NFPA, Title 22) & general IT and cybersecurity awareness in a healthcare setting

Strong problem-solving and judgment, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple equipment issues
