Job Description
A lead defense contractor is looking to hire a Systems Engineer II that will be working full time onsite in Petaluma M-Fri. The Systems Engineer II works with our Design team to develop a variety of innovative Unmanned Systems for defense and commercial applications. This position will interact with Controls Engineers to allocate requirements and develop architectures to drive simulation models. These development efforts will generally be small focused design teams, which will require engineers to use a range of skills and tools across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines. Because of the nature of the development efforts, the engineer will need to work on a variety of stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, validation and verification testing. This position pays between $112-$175 depending on years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience
7-10+ years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably in UAS/aerospace or fast‑moving R&D environments
Experience with requirements, system architecture, and verification/validation, using tools such as DOORS
Hands-on integration and test experience (flight test a plus); comfortable working directly with hardware
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP protocols, OSI model); RF and software experience are bonuses
Thrives in small, fast-growing teams and can balance requirements/architecture (~50%) with test planning/execution (~50%)
