Job Description
A large automotive company is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team in Palo Alto with ability to travel to Fremont. This individual will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities. This role is 20-25% site work and 75% behind a desk.
What You’ll Do
• Conduct structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood and masonry structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations
• Develop drawings, building information models (BIM), calculations, proposals, and reports.
• Prepare preliminary designs for quotes.
• Perform construction administration tasks including review and coordination of RFIs, RFPs, submittal logs, bids, shop drawings, etc. Interact with contractors, fabricators, stakeholders and consultant teams.
• Provide field support including recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements within project area.
• Documentation and assessment of existing conditions of a structure using existing documentation as well as field investigations.
• Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
• Manage structural projects from estimating through construction
Pay Range for this role is $60 - $80 depending on years of experience and education

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a structural engineer
• Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in CA
• Experience with SAP2000, RISA 3D, ETABS.
• Experience with BIM modeling tools like Revit for drafting
• Proficiency in building design codes such as ASCE, CBC, IBC, AISC, ACI, NDS
• Experience with structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, cold-form steel
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities. For example; automobile manufacturing, semiconductor, solar, battery or similar industry.
