Job Description

We are seeking a specialized Energy / Mechanical Engineer to drive the sustainable and efficient design of our facility mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between conceptual energy modeling and practical mechanical execution. You will work closely with architectural, electrical, and controls teams to design highly efficient HVAC and hydronic systems, optimize building performance, and ensure our facilities meet aggressive energy reduction targets.

What You’ll Do

Energy & Sustainability
- Run energy models and simulations to improve building performance and reduce carbon emissions
- Identify energy efficiency opportunities (ECMs) and available local incentives or credits

System Design & Engineering
- Design HVAC, central plant (CUP), and hydronic systems for large R&D and manufacturing facilities
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations to properly size equipment
- Select key mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, AHUs, pumps, etc.)

Collaboration & Optimization
- Partner with Controls Engineering to develop efficient system operations
- Evaluate lifecycle costs to inform smart design decisions

Compliance & Standards
- Ensure designs meet relevant building codes and energy standards (ASHRAE, Title 24, etc.)

Project Support
Manage and prioritize design requests across:
- New construction projects
- Existing facility support
- Site upgrades and improvements

Pay range for this role is $58 - $68 per hour depending on years of experience and education
