Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Architectural Design Manager to join a Creative Design team, who is passionate about our mission on the infrastructure team with focus on People Spaces / Workplace projects & lab planning. In this role, you will be leading the design and delivery of people space projects, partnering with internal cost estimating and construction teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure successful execution from concept through construction. The candidate will oversee design workflows, coordinate design reviews, and deliver fully integrated construction packages (IFP/IFC). The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Design & Engineering disciplines, Construction, R&D, operations to ensure our team’s goals are aligned with company priorities. We are a demanding and fast-paced environment, so being self‐motivated and disciplined is critical.
Lab planning involves stakeholder engagement, test fitting equipment to optimize space within code requirements & operational standards. This role requires attention to detail, along with great communication & interpersonal skills, to create on-going relationships with stakeholders and their leadership. Key responsibilities include delivering presentations, coordinating across stakeholders, engineering, construction & cost estimation teams to develop a complete design package of each lab.
What You’ll Do
- Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction: including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC
- Define strategies for design, architecture and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages
- Own the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery to meet our aggressive goals
- Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s
- Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project
- Fundamentally understand stakeholder’s requirements and translate them into project deliverables
- Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction
Pay Range for this role is: $50 - $65 per hour depending on years of experience and education

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience required
- Experience with managing complex MEP projects
- Fully understanding all engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resource
- Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages
- Experience and familiarity with VDC approach to project management of manufacturing, industrial, R&D facilities, workplace and site infrastructure development
- Project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
