Job Description
As a Controls Technical Program Manager, you will support and drive the execution of controls-related work across mission‑critical construction projects, specifically data centers. This role is heavily focused on coordination, execution, and tracking, with an emphasis on supporting field teams rather than owning product or controls design. On a daily basis, you’ll work closely with controls engineers, construction teams, procurement, and legal to ensure controls systems are implemented correctly and consistently.
You’ll regularly read and interpret construction drawings and controls documentation, track field issues, RFIs, and POs, and ensure follow‑ups are closed. You’ll run cross‑functional and cross‑regional meetings, document decisions, file and track bugs or gaps, and provide clear status updates to leadership. A strong understanding of what controls systems are, how BMS and PMS systems are built, and how they are applied in buildings is critical to effectively communicate between technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
This is a full support TPM role, requiring comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to execution. You’ll spend the majority of your time ensuring processes are followed, stakeholders are aligned, approvals are obtained, and field execution stays on track — with roughly 25% technical understanding and 75% program management and coordination. This role is not product‑side and does not involve designing or coding controls systems, but technical fluency is required to ask the right questions and manage risks effectively.
