Job Description

We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to deep-dive daily system-level investigations for the Drone system at our commercial operations sites, driving improved reliability within our ultra-fast drone delivery operations.

This role will be responsible for troubleshooting drone issues observed within operations and rapidly finding solutions to safely return the drone to service. Additionally, this role will be responsible for supporting new drone delivery sites by provisioning site equipment, programing check flights and verifying nominal performance before commercial operations start. This role sustains the larger organization by ensuring a high degree of technical reliability within drone operations, working closely with design engineering/service engineering staff and powering a flywheel of continuous improvement in the drone system design. Partnering with the drone system operations and various engineering disciplines, you will provide engineering analyses and solutions to improve the system reliability and performance. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to identify opportunities and lead implementation of system improvements.

This role is a core member of the Product Support Organization (PSO) Engineering team, serving as the first line between operator/maintainer experiences and design engineering improvements or mitigations. Strong cross-functional engineering fundamentals (mechanical, electrical, software development basics) skills are essential, as well as strong technical communication and documentation skills. Your ability to translate complex system functions into digestible insights and summarize effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be critical to success in this role.
