The University of California, Merced seeks a Utilities Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects supporting campus growth and utility modernization. This role ensures project delivery across planning, design, construction, and compliance phases for systems like solar PV, electrical substations, and wastewater infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of project management experience delivering capital projects, preferably in utilities or infrastructure, from an owner's representative/lead PM perspective
• Demonstrated experience managing both design and construction phases
• Experience with:
o Construction contracting and procurement
o Regulatory permitting
o Design review and permitting coordination
o Construction administration (submittals, RFIs, approvals, change management)
o Project closeout
• Strong understanding of utility infrastructure systems, including electrical, wastewater, and energy systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in higher education or public sector environments
• Experience integrating complex utility infrastructure within active/operating facilities
• Mechanical Engineering background or degree preferred
