Job Description

A major media organization is seeking a Post Production Engineer (Union) to support fast-paced Post, VFX, and Broadcast operations. This engineer will maintain and troubleshoot post‑production systems, oversee editing environments, manage storage workflows, and support both on‑prem and cloud-based production infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, highly technical role supporting editors, artists, and production teams during mission-critical moments, requiring flexibility with hours and shift schedules (occasional nights and weekends). This role is a full time Union (NABET 53) role located in Los Angeles, CA (100% on-site).

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-7 years of Systems Administration experience within Production, VFX, Post, or Broadcast environments.
• Strong background supporting and managing:
• Adobe CC Suite, especially Premiere Pro
• Windows 10/11 environments
• Active Directory (policies, permissions, login management)
• Experience with proactive technical support, not just ticket response.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting cloud-based editing environments (GCP preferred).
• Knowledge of:
• Hyperconverged systems (VMware, VxRail)
• Remote editing workflows (HP ZCentral, Teradici)
• Post-production storage (SAN/NAS)
• Editing + Graphics applications:
○ Avid, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve
○ Cinema 4D, Maya, ZBrush
• Experience with:
• Render workflows (frame sequence rendering)
• Linux distros: CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat
• Network protocols: NFS, SMB/CIFS
• Layer 3 networks, subnets, VRFs
