Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an iOS Video Player Engineer for their large media and entertainment clients. This is 1 year contract (likely extensions) and is remote in India. You will be joining the Digital Video Platform organization that leads the video and player engineering teams responsible for this company’s digital video ecosystem (Sports, News, Entertainment), including live and VOD streams. This team builds video player frameworks which are then consumed by a variety of the clients apps; sports, news, weather, etc This team builds the video players that these other teams integrate into their specific platforms/apps (Roku, iOS, Android). This team gets product requests from different business units across the org and they need to prioritize them ( it might be to build a feature specific to weather, to sports etc). They also assist these BU's with integrations. This is a mid level-senior iOS engineering role where the successful candidate must have hands on experience supporting and working directly with the video player. They should have experience supporting VOD content and any experience supporting live streaming is a bonus. You should understand how to optimize VOD and how to optimize video players for best user experience. This person will face challenges such as troubleshooting video quality, enhancing playback, airplay not working correct, video freezing, frames dropping etc.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of iOS development utilizing Swift, Swift UI and/or UI Kit
Recent experience directly programming within the Video player (AVPlayer), able to build components to support video playback, NOT the UI customization
Experience supporting VOD streams/content
Experience with HLS
Experience with analytical tools such as Conviva, Mux or another similar tool is sufficient
