Job Description

This engineer will support up front design and development for low voltage automotive systems. The work centers on gathering, documenting, merging, and managing hardware requirements across multiple teams using JAMA. The position helps bridge hardware and systems teams by ensuring clear interface definitions, consistent documentation, and strong traceability. The role is heavy on design analysis and requirements management, with some hands-on involvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, document, and manage hardware and system requirements across low voltage (LV) components
• Use JAMA to write, track, and merge requirements across multiple teams
• Create system interface requirements and ensure alignment between hardware and impacted software
• Support design analysis and early phase system planning
• Collaborate across cross functional engineering groups to eliminate gaps and duplicates
• Maintain hardware requirements traceability throughout the development cycle
• Support design reviews and provide input through an electrical engineering lens
• Balance hands-on engineering tasks with requirements oversight

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong low voltage automotive systems experience
• Proficiency with JAMA or any modern requirements management tool
• Experience with hardware requirements development
• Understanding of system interfaces and cross team dependencies
• Ability to merge inputs into a single cohesive requirements set
• Electrical Engineering background or similar hardware-focused discipline

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Understanding of how hardware decisions impact software
• Experience with other requirements platforms (DOORS, Polarion, CodeBeamer, Helix ALM)
