Job Description

About the Role
This engineer will work on interior devices such as indicator lights, switches, charging pads, USB interfaces, and other electromechanical components. The work is done fully in-house. The role requires someone who can balance studio collaboration (aesthetic surfacing and user experience) with hands‑on electrical and mechanical design.
You will own components from concept through production and interface heavily with cross-functional partners including studio, neighboring component owners, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Drive cradle‑to‑grave development of interior device components from concept to production.
Perform electrical design using Altium including PCB layout, component selection, packaging, and worst‑case analysis.
Create 3D mechanical designs using CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
Collaborate with studio to translate aesthetic intent into feasible engineering solutions.
Work closely with suppliers while keeping the majority of development in-house.
Conduct R&D, prototyping, and design investigations.
Document work in Jira and support integration with other vehicle systems.
Participate in white‑board design sessions, schematic reviews, and engineering problem‑solving.
Interface with numerous owners due to devices plugging into various interior structures.
Typical Day Breakdown
30 percent Electrical design (Altium)
15–20 percent 3D mechanical design
20 percent Cross-functional meetings and integration work
10 percent Studio collaboration, investigations, prototyping
10 percent Jira documentation, chats, emails
20–34 percent Supplier collaboration
