Job Description

Are you a Motion Capture Operator looking for a short term position? Do you want to expand your Motion Capture experience into the tech and R&D industry?


Insight Global Evergreen is working with an AR VR technology leader in Irvine,CA. We are looking for a Motion Capture Operator/Technician who can operate industry standard Motion Capture equipment for a data collection project where participants will use Prototype Fitness Technology at a Motion Capture Studio. This is a short term project with an estimated duration of 2 months with possibility of extension.


**Length of employment duration will be based on performance and/or the program needs.**


Responsibilities:

You will set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Motion Capture equipment within a lab/studio setting. In general, the following responsibilities are expected but not limited to:

Assist with production shoots, including preparation, setup, operation, cleanup, and maintenance of motion capture systems and associated hardware.

Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot motion capture systems, including optical (Vicon) and Realtime operations.

Ability to direct/coordinate individuals in a polite and courteous manner

Track and clean motion capture assets to ensure high-quality results.

Provide support for participant marker application.

Assist with protocol setup and change over.

Accurately document workflows and pipelines to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.

Contribute constructive feedback, and actively participate in improving the motion capture process and data output.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in motion capture operations related to video games, television, film or other related industry.

Familiarity with industry-standard processes, protocols, and best practices related to motion capture, animation, and visual effects.

2-3 years proficiency in working with industry-leading motion capture software and/or hardware, including Motive, Vicon, A/V hardware, Cameras and/or other relevant tools.

Understanding of virtual cameras and virtual production techniques

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, think critically, and find solutions efficiently during motion capture sessions.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborate with team members, and communicate clearly and concisely with performers and other production personnel.

Ability to track, clean, and process motion capture data to ensure high-quality results, including the use of software like Motive.

Experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting motion capture hardware, including cameras, suits, markers, facial capture systems, timecode, and video equipment.

Proven ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.

Believe in collaboration, integrity, creativity and proactivity.

Mature and confident interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to participants with varying levels of tech savvy

High-level of verbal and written communication skills using email, instant messaging, and video conferencing (similar to Zoom or Slack)

Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and working on Android/iOS and MacOS

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Degree in STEM from an accredited college or university

2-3 years experience with photography, videography, or theater

1-2 years working in a team environment

Familiarity with Linux devices

Familiarity with MacOS Terminal CLIs

Familiarity in programming languages (such as python or c++) and custom script development for motion capture pipelines is a plus.
