Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Engineer, R&D – V&V is directly responsible for the design and execution of software verification and validation for Vision product lines. They will provide quality and technical leadership to ensure new medical devices (e.g. cataract equipment) meet their intended use. They will be the subject matter expert in requirements gathering and defining and executing test strategies. They adhere to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.
Engineer, R&D – V&V, will:
• Partner with R&D developers to define the black-box testing strategy.
• Conduct product verification and validation activities on cataract projects.
• Develop testing strategies based on requirements and designs.
• Creates, reviews, and/or approves software verification and validation documentation.
• Reviews test case execution results and defect management.
• Proactively examine processes to identify areas for review, change, or elimination.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree
2+ years of work experience supporting the testing of systems that are controlled by software.
Understanding of requirements management, configuration management, product software V&V, defect management and software risk analysis
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in the Medical Device industry
