Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Welding Manufacturing Engineer in Los Angeles, CA to join a rapidly growing aircraft manufacturer. Responsibilities will include: Develop, qualify, and optimize weld processes and parameters for multiple techniques including, but not limited to, electron beam, laser beam, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, plasma arc, resistance, friction-stir, and orbital tube welding, support R&D and production builds of welded aircraft structures, tanks, and propulsion assemblies, providing direct guidance to technicians and manufacturing engineers, lead root cause investigations related to weld performance, material compatibility, and process deviations; implement corrective actions based on metallurgical and mechanical findings, plan and execute weld qualification campaigns, including mechanical testing, NDE inspection, and data interpretation, and collaborate closely with tooling, automation, and integration teams to develop solutions that minimize distortion, improve accuracy, and accelerate production timelines.
The salary range for this role is on average between $138,550 - $224,250 a year.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline preferred Mechanical Engineering.
2 years of experience in weld manufacturing engineering within an R&D/startup environment.
Experience writing work orders and developing weld processes within the manufacturing arena.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working on a project team with a deep understanding of structural materials.
