Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to ensure safe, compliant operations across our project site. The SSHO will be present on-site with full mobility and access to all major work operations during their shift. This role reports to a senior project (or corporate) official and collaborates closely with the project management team, the local Safety Office (SOH), and various site stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
On-site presence and accessibility
- Be physically present at the project site with the ability to access all major work areas and operations during the shift.
- Coordinate with the local SOH Office to align on-site coverage and requirements.

Leadership and reporting:
- Report to a senior project official or corporate leadership.
- Lead safety program delivery in collaboration with the project management team.

Training and qualifications:
- Produce and maintain documentation of OSHA 30-hour training completion (or equivalent) for the role, including:
- OSHA 30-hour General Industry safety training, or
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry safety training, or
- An equivalent formal construction or industry safety and health training covering OSHA 30 topics and EM 385-1-1 requirements, provided by qualified instructors (may be web-based with instructor access).

- Experience requirements:
- Demonstrate proof of employment with either:
Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience (supervising/managing safety programs, hazard analyses, and controls), or
- Five (5) years of continuous general industry safety experience (supervising/managing safety programs, hazard analyses, and controls), or
- If holding a third-party nationally accredited SOH-related certification (ANSI or NCCA), provide four (4) years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of OSHA 30-hour training (General Industry or Construction) or equivalent; approval of training alternatives by the local SOH Office.
5 years of construction safety experience or 5 years of general safety experience, or 4 years if holding an ANSI/NCCA-recognized SOH certification.
Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and related safety standards.
Excellent on-site presence, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple shifts, coordinate with DRs, and supervise safety staff.
