Job Description

A healthcare organization in the Los Angeles area is seeking a Financial Clearance Representatives to support their growing team. This position will be a part of the Authorizations Team, responsible for obtaining service authorizations for patients seen at clinics across multiple states and cities (4 clinics in Arizona, 2 Clinics in Chicago, and 1 clinic in Atlanta). The current team size is 9 members. They will be submitting authorizations and verifying insurance for specifically for chemotherapy and episode based medications. They will be working with all types of insurance plans: HMOs, PPOs, Medi-Cal, Medicare, etc. across the given states. Must have Epic experience. This person will need to quickly become familiar with the different plan types for the different locations. Daily responsibilities include:
-Manage work queues related to Episode-Based Chemotherapy (infusion/injectable) treatments (Patient Queue – Insurance verification and registration updates &
Referral Queue– Authorization and order submissions)
-Verify insurance eligibility for all scheduled patients on a monthly basis.
- Look up registration errors, update insurance/registration errors and details, and complete data entry tasks.
- Work through queues by appointment date or expected future date, ensuring all tasks are completed thoroughly before moving to the next patient.
This is anticipated to be a contract to hire role. Candidate must be extremely reliable with great communication.

Required Skills & Experience

Must be based on the West Coast

Recent experience with Epic EMR

Strong background in submitting and reviewing chemotherapy and episode-based medication authorizations, including treatment plan and clinical documentation review

Experience in insurance and benefit verification

Experience working with major insurance plan web portals

Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
