Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Mid-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join a large environmental engineering firm in Costa Mesa. This candidate will help with the project planning, design, and construction of water or wastewater treatment plants. Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to: reviewing project updates and emails, ensuring youre up-to-date with any changes or urgent tasks. Your primary focus will be on both preliminary and final design tasks. This includes sizing equipment, exploring different layout options, routing pipes, selecting materials, and preparing detailed construction documents. Collaboration is key in this role. Youll coordinate with structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure all design aspects are aligned. Youll also supervise and provide guidance to junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and ensuring the quality of their work. Managing project budgets and schedules is another critical aspect of your day to day. Youll prepare cost estimates, participate in project pursuits, and ensure that all engineering work meets quality standards and contractual obligations. Client interaction is also a significant part of your role. Youll prepare technical presentations and present them in client workshops, engaging with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering
- 4+ years of water project experience
- Must be registered or able to obtain a Professional Engineer registration within six months.
- Experienced with project planning, detailed design, and constructions support for water or wastewater treatment facilities
- Demonstrated experience in the design and construction of small, medium, and large water and/or wastewater projects, with responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Understanding of treatment plant hydraulics
Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule restraints

- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering
