Insight Global is seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to support a leading OEM client within their Air Dominance and Strike Aerodynamics Engineering team. This team is responsible for advanced aerodynamic design and analysis for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms, with a strong focus on high‑speed flight regimes including supersonic and hypersonic systems.
The ideal candidate will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from conceptual design and vehicle sizing through detailed analysis, wind tunnel testing, and flight test planning and execution. This role is well‑suited for a hands‑on, jack‑of‑all‑trades aerodynamics engineer with strong fundamentals and the ability to work across aerodynamic, thermal, and performance disciplines in complex, contested environments.

Required Skills & Experience
3–5+ years of relevant aerodynamics or aerospace engineering experience
BS or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering (Master’s preferred for supersonic/hypersonic work)
Experience with aerodynamic analysis techniques including:
Hand calculations
Low‑order methods
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Strong experience with Star‑CCM+ (Siemens)
US3D (government CFD code) is acceptable/interchangeable
Experience working in supersonic and/or hypersonic flow regimes
Understanding of aerothermodynamics, thermal, and heat transfer concepts in high‑speed environments
Experience with stability and control analysis, aerodynamic loads generation, and/or aircraft performance modeling
Experience supporting wind tunnel testing (planning, execution, analysis)
Proficiency in higher‑level programming languages such as MATLAB and/or Python for analysis and internal tool development
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Master’s degree strongly preferred for supersonic-focused roles
Hypersonics experience (PhD common but not required)
Experience with:
Aerothermal / thermal analysis at high Mach numbers
Trajectory optimization for vehicle trade studies and sensitivities
Laminar, transitional, and turbulent high‑speed flow modeling
Chemical kinetics or combustion CFD (bonus)
Experience on real flight systems (modern fighter jets, missile programs, or government laboratory work)
Aerospace & Defense industry background
Broad systems‑level understanding (less siloed, cross‑discipline mindset)
