Job Description

The Project Engineer III provides advanced technical leadership across new product development, customer facing sustaining engineering, cost and quality improvement initiatives, and cross functional program execution. This role serves as a key technical focal within an integrated engineering team, guiding design efforts, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, coordinating development activities, supporting fabrication and testing, and contributing to certification and entry into service. The position also interfaces with suppliers, supports audits, drives process improvements, and represents the organization as a subject matter expert.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4-5+ years of experience in relevant aerospace engineering leading some aspect of engineer processes
• Experience supporting programs from kick off through major milestones (etc PDR, CDR, PRR, SOF, EIS).
• Experience delegating work and general supervision of engineering support personnel (etc. mentoring junior engineers on the team).
• Experience preparing certification documents (ATP, QTP, QTR, etc.).
• Knowledge of sheet metal and/or composite manufacturing processes.
• MRB experience with engineering disposition authority.
• Experience participating in internal/external audits.
• Ability to interpret and support development of 3D models and 2D drawings (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
• Test experience per RTCA DO/160 or MIL STD 810.
• Experience preparing engineering cost estimates for RFQs.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree (preferred but not required).
• Prior subject matter expertise on the listed aerospace subsystems
- metallic or composite ducting and motion compensator design per ARP 699 or equivalent experience in similar areas
• Experience with aircraft certification requirements (FAA/EASA/other major authorities).
Strong understanding of industry specifications (MIL, AN, MS, NAS, ASTM, AMS).
