Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Solution Architect to join a major retail company in Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA. The Solution Architect will own systems architecture on the Inbound Logistics Technology team, supporting their SaaS platform and associated capabilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting delivery teams by crafting detailed solution roadmaps for a defined set of capabilities, systems or projects. They will also collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure implementations align with architectural intent and business goals. Other principal duties and responsibilities include:

Lead the design and evolution of technology solutions across the architecture lifecycle, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Project/Program Managers, and Analysts to define project requirements, success criteria, and design guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
Actively participate in and present at architecture design reviews, advocating for sound design principles and engineering best practices.
Proactively engage cross-functional stakeholders, gather organizational context, and incorporate insights into architectural decisions.
Identify and document deviations from future-state architecture, escalating where necessary to maintain architectural integrity.
Clearly communicate trade-offs in architecture approaches; adapt processes to project and team needs.
Contribute to the Architecture Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and presenting at internal events to foster alignment and growth across teams.
Continue to investigate new and innovative technologies to evolve the future state architecture in partnership with other Architects in the department
Develop and monitor adherence to integration standards and will utilize these standards to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability
Deep understanding of integration technologies and practices as well as the business acumen to develop overarching system designs

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, maintaing scalable, cloud-based software systems

5+ years of experience architecting retail/supply chain applications
Proven expertise in cloud platforms, with hands-on experience with AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP
Experience integrating with Cloud/SaaS applications, API's, SDK of packaged applications and legacy applications
Experience building microservices is required
Strong capabilities in data architecture, including analytics pipelines, visualization frameworks, and scalable data solutions
Experience working and leading in a DevOps operating model utilizing Cloud infrastructure

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Strong preference for supply chain application experience (especially logistics technology)
