Job Description
Insight Global is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Platform Engineering team for a leading Vancouver-based retailer. This role is a hands-on technical leadership position focused on designing, operating, and evolving GitLab SaaS, Terraform Cloud, and CI/CD automation at enterprise scale. You will collaborate with platform, security, and product teams to deliver scalable, resilient DevOps solutions, while driving the adoption of AI-assisted workflows across the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Own and manage GitLab SaaS and Terraform Cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with security and SSDLC standards
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, runners, templates, and shared components
- Develop and promote Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), including reusable modules, guardrails, and policy-as-code
- Design and operate GitOps workflows and automate provisioning, access management, and lifecycle processes
- Integrate AI-assisted capabilities into CI/CD, code review, incident response, and operational workflows, ensuring responsible and governed use
- Maintain platform reliability through observability, metrics, and on-call support
- Analyze platform performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide insights to inform roadmap decisions
- Create documentation, runbooks, and reference architectures to support best practices and self-service adoption
- Drive enablement through templates, automation, and participation in communities of practice (demos, office hours, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills & Expertise
• Deep hands-on experience with GitLab SaaS and Terraform Cloud (CI/CD, Infrastructure, Governance, Metrics)
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, AWS or cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
• Platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE practices at enterprise scale
• Software supply chain security (artifact governance, vulnerability management, provenance)
• Policy-as-code (OPA/Rego or Sentinel) and compliance automation
• Experience embedding AI-assisted tooling into engineering workflows
Qualifications
• 10+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
• Proven ownership of production platforms with high availability and security requirements
• Experience driving automation, reliability, and developer productivity improvements
• Strong collaboration and communication across engineering, product, and security
