Job Description
The Design Specialist will own communities undergoing copper retirement, with end‑to‑end responsibility for ensuring every circuit has a clearly defined migration path to fibre. This role involves analyzing and managing multiple circuits per portfolio, building scalable frameworks for circuit‑level migration, and triaging issues when circuits fall out using address‑level and system data. The specialist will create and maintain comprehensive community migration plans and work cross‑functionally with network engineering, access planning, construction PMO, and customer‑facing migration teams to translate network data into executable build and migration strategies.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5 years of experience in telecom network design, planning, or deployment
• Strong telecom infrastructure experience with an Outside Plant (OSP) focus
• Familiarity with systems, including FMS and SpatialNet
• Strong data and analytical skills; comfortable working with circuit, service, and fibre qualification data
• Solid understanding of network construction methodology (fiber builds, permitting, civil requirements)
Self‑starter able to perform in fast‑paced, delivery‑driven environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Project management experience (tracking deliverables, timelines, and dependencies)
Strong storytelling and decision‑support skills, including trade‑off analysis and build or migration recommendations based on complexity
