Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst to support Data Governance initiatives within a large enterprise data environment. This role will focus on coordinating Data Governance processes, supporting stakeholder engagement, and enabling the effective adoption of governance tools and standards across the organization. This role is expected to have 5+ years of relevant experience.
This role supports the execution and operationalization of Data Governance processes, including managing intake requests, maintaining governance artifacts, and driving alignment across business and technical stakeholders. The Business Analyst will play a key role in ensuring data governance policies, standards, and stewardship practices are well-documented, communicated, and consistently applied. This position requires strong communication skills, cross-functional coordination, and a solid understanding of modern data environments and Data Governance practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate Data Governance intake processes, ensuring requests are reviewed, tracked, and routed appropriately
Maintain and manage the business glossary within Atlan, ensuring accuracy and completeness of definitions and metadata
Support the development, maintenance, and enforcement of Data Governance policies and standards
Document Data Governance processes, including process maps, workflows, and diagrams
Facilitate stakeholder coordination across business, data, and governance teams to ensure alignment and adoption
Host non-technical training sessions on Data Governance tools (including Atlan) to drive adoption and understanding
Lead and facilitate Data Governance office hours to support users and address questions
Support communication and documentation efforts related to governance processes and updates
Partner with Data Stewards and stakeholders to ensure proper ownership, definitions, and data quality expectations are maintained
Skills Required
Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills, working across business and technical teams
Experience supporting Data Governance functions, including policies, standards, and stewardship practices
Process documentation skills, including creating workflows, process maps, and diagrams
Ability to translate Data Governance concepts into clear, business-friendly communication
Understanding of Data Stewardship and data ownership concepts
Familiarity with modern data environments, including data platforms and data lifecycle concepts
Training and enablement experience, including delivering non-technical sessions to business users
Strong organization and attention to detail in managing governance artifacts and processes
Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves
3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within Data Governance or data-focused environments
Experience coordinating governance-related processes such as intake, documentation, or policy management
Strong understanding of Data Governance and Data Stewardship concepts
Experience working in modern data environments (e.g., data platforms, cloud ecosystems, or analytics environments)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience creating process documentation (process maps, workflows, diagrams)
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a related discipline
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses
Experience working with Atlan or similar Data Governance tools
Experience facilitating training sessions or office hours
Familiarity with enterprise Data Governance frameworks and operating models
Experience with process documentation tools (e.g., Visio)
