Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Field Construction Managers to support a major telecom client by overseeing inside plant and Central Office (CO) build activities across active field sites. This role is highly field‑based and involves traveling to COs and technical facilities to pre‑field work, assess site readiness, and support ongoing construction and upgrade initiatives. Field Construction Managers will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to review inside build work related to equipment installations, fiber‑optic infrastructure (primarily fiber, with limited copper), power, and racking.
On a day‑to‑day basis, this individual will perform site inspections, follow up on post‑construction quality assurance, and ensure all work aligns with established build and safety standards. They will attend technical and standards calls to stay current on inside build requirements and apply those standards directly in the field. The role requires documenting site findings, inspections, and updates in internal systems, as well as proactively identifying issues, flagging risks, and escalating concerns when work is not meeting expectations.
This position also involves frequent coordination with vendors, construction crews, and internal telecom stakeholders, serving as a technical advisor and field point of contact. Field Construction Managers will handle ad‑hoc field requests, respond quickly when dispatched to job sites, assist with scheduling and prioritization across multiple projects, and support invoice validation by identifying discrepancies tied to field work. The role supports both existing CO upgrades and new CO builds, including transition efforts where new facilities are commissioned and legacy sites are decommissioned.
