Job Description

One of our largest national retail clients is looking to bring on a Big Data Engineer to help them with several ongoing modernization projects. This individual will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Spark, SQL, & will be using Google Cloud data products to process, transform, & analyze large data sets. The projects will consist of upgrading legacy systems and building new analytic applications while ensuring data reliability, performance, and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer / Big Data Engineer
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark (5+ years)
Proficiency in Python and/or Scala
Advanced SQL skills with experience querying relational databases
Experience building, optimizing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures
2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience with Databricks (Azure)
Experience with additional cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
Exposure to AI / ML building blocks within GCP
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker
Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets
