Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer (QE) to support the Item and Availability portfolio, ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of associate‑facing applications across Canada, Mexico, and Central America. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust automated regression test coverage for React Native mobile applications and supporting backend services. The QE will ensure that critical happy‑path flows and key unhappy‑path scenarios are consistently validated across releases, preventing regressions and reinforcing associate trust in production systems.

Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation
Strong expertise in test automation frameworks:
Appium
Selenium
BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
Proven experience designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks
Hands-on experience testing React Native mobile applications, with strong focus on Android
Deep experience in automating end-to-end UI, API, and backend workflows
Strong proficiency in validating REST APIs and distributed backend services
Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting skills across mobile and backend layers
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, service interactions, and failure handling
Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures
Experience working with databases such as Azure SQL and MSSQL (data validation, query optimization for testing)
Proven experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and improving release quality gates
Strong understanding of software testing principles, test design strategies, and quality engineering best practices
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting retail, store-associate, or enterprise mobile applications
Familiarity with RFID systems or proximity-based scanning workflows
Experience with multi-market / international deployments
Exposure to telemetry, logging, and monitoring tools (e.g., observability platforms)
Experience validating complex unhappy-path and failure scenarios in distributed systems
Basic exposure to performance testing or mobile performance optimization
