Position Summary
The Operations Lead – Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, administration, adoption, and operational support of the Manufacturing Execution System supporting Phoenix manufacturing operations.
This role serves as the operational owner of MES execution and acts as the primary liaison between Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Engineering, Training, Logistics, and the Digital Systems Integration organization. The Operations Lead ensures the MES platform is configured, maintained, and utilized in a manner that supports production objectives, workforce effectiveness, quality compliance, and operational visibility.
Working under the direction of the Operations Manager – Digital Systems Integration, this role is responsible for translating business processes into executable MES workflows while ensuring system usability, data accuracy, reporting integrity, and cross-functional adoption.
The Operations Lead will play a critical role during facility stand-up, Assembly launch, and subsequent Fabrication activation by ensuring MES capabilities mature alongside operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
MES Deployment & Operational Readiness
Support deployment and operationalization of the selected Manufacturing Execution System.
Coordinate activities related to:
System implementation
User acceptance testing (UAT)
Go-live preparation
Configuration validation
Process mapping
Workflow deployment
Operational readiness assessments
Ensure MES workflows align with approved production processes and operating procedures.
Support successful transition from implementation to sustained operations.

Manufacturing Process Integration
Work directly with operational stakeholders to align MES functionality with production requirements.
Support MES integration across:
Fabrication Operations
Assembly Operations
Quality Operations
Material Flow Processes
Inventory Transactions
Production Reporting
Ensure business processes are accurately represented within the system.
Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and improve workflow efficiency.

Production Data & Transaction Management
Own day-to-day oversight of production transaction integrity.
Monitor and support:
Work order transactions
Build records
Production completions
Material consumption reporting
Traceability requirements
Operator transactions
Exception management
Ensure production data remains complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

MES User Adoption & Support
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for MES-related user support.
Partner with:

Manufacturing Leads
Trainers
Engineers
Quality Teams
Support:
User onboarding
Workflow adoption
Troubleshooting
Process compliance
Best practice development
Drive continuous improvement in user engagement and system utilization.

Quality & Traceability Integration
Ensure MES workflows support quality requirements.
Coordinate implementation and administration of:
Quality checkpoints
Digital inspections
Defect recording
Non-conformance workflows
Product genealogy
Serial number traceability
Audit reporting
Partner with Quality stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are supported within the platform.

Support development and administration of MES-related reporting solutions.

Collaborate with Reporting Analysts and Business Intelligence teams to ensure reporting accuracy and usability.

Issue Management & Continuous Improvement
Manage MES-related operational issues from identification through resolution.
Coordinate:
Incident tracking
Issue prioritization
Root cause investigations
Corrective actions
Enhancement requests
Vendor escalations
Maintain visibility into open issues and provide regular status updates to DSI leadership.
Develop recommendations for system enhancements and process improvements.

Assembly Launch Support
Initial Operational Focus
Assembly is expected to be the first major operational activation area.
The MES Lead will support:
Assembly workflow configuration
Production routing definition
Operator transaction design
Build record requirements
Quality checkpoints
Work instruction integration
Reporting validation
Partner closely with Assembly leadership during launch activities to validate workflow effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

Fabrication Expansion Support
Following Assembly activation, support MES expansion into Fabrication operations.
Coordinate:
Advanced production workflows
Fabrication routing logic
Manufacturing reporting requirements
Material traceability practices
Process-specific data collection
Ensure lessons learned during Assembly deployment are incorporated into Fabrication implementation.

5–8+ years of experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems in manufacturing, industrial, semiconductor, electronics assembly, or data center manufacturing environments
Experience participating in MES implementation, deployment, or administration activities
