Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join one of Canada's leading employee-owned general contractors. This individual will support the Superintendent and project team in coordinating day-to-day construction activities while helping ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Depending on project size and complexity, the Assistant Superintendent may either support larger project teams or take ownership of smaller, fast-paced projects within the company's Special Services Group. This role is based in Red Deer, AB and will require occasional travel throughout Alberta and British Columbia as project needs arise.

Required Skills & Experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 2+ years of construction experience working for a General Contractor
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Experience working on commercial construction projects
• Proven resilience during difficult experiences
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Alberta and British Columbia as required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Site Coordinator, Construction Coordinator, Lead Carpenter, Foreman, or related field leadership role
• Carpentry background or trade certification
• Exposure to tenant improvements, renovations, service work, or small-project construction environments
• Experience managing smaller projects independently
• Familiarity with construction management software such as:
○ Procore
○ Microsoft Project
○ Bluebeam
○ Autodesk Construction Cloud
○ Other industry-standard construction platforms
• Formal construction-related education, diploma, degree, or trade certification
• CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, or other relevant construction safety certifications
Experience working within a collaborative, employee-owned organization
