Job Description
seeking a Business Analyst (BA) – Digital Supply Chain to play a critical role in
designing, enabling, and scaling digitally-enabled supply chain capabilities across our
North American operations. This role sits at the intersection of field operations, supply
chain execution, digital platforms, and data.
The successful candidate will work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Digital, IT,
Data, and external technology partners to translate real-world operational workflows
into scalable, standardized, and measurable digital solutions that drive safety, service,
cost, and productivity outcomes.
This role requires deep analytical capability, strong process thinking, comfort operating in
complex operational environments, and the ability to bridge business needs with technical
implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Design & Standardization
• Lead discovery and documentation of current-state (as-is) and future-state (to
be) supply chain processes across transportation, inventory, fulfillment, delivery,
and field execution.
• Define harmonized execution models that balance enterprise standardization
with regional and field-level realities.
• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and manual workarounds; propose digitally
enabled improvements.
2. Requirements Engineering
• Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements from
business stakeholders, field users, and operational leaders.
• Translate business needs into clear, testable, traceable requirements suitable for
Digital Supply Chain product teams and system integrators.
• Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business outcomes through
design, build, test, and deployment.
• Manage scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints across multiple
workstreams.
3. Data & Integration Enablement
• Define supply chain data objects, attributes, ownership, and lineage across
systems.
• Document data flows, transformations, and integration touchpoints between
platforms (e.g., SAP, OEM telematics, routing, inventory, PoD).
• Specify UX inputs and outputs, ensuring data captured in the field supports
downstream planning, execution, analytics, and billing.
• Partner with data and integration teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and
governance are embedded into solutions.
4. UX & Field Enablement
• Conduct field-level workflow analysis to understand how work is actually
performed by drivers, dispatchers, terminal operators, and branch teams.
• Capture mobility, ergonomics, offline/online, exception handling, and safety
considerations.
• Ensure solutions are designed for simplicity, speed, and adoption in demanding
operational environments.
• Advocate for the field user experience during design and prioritization discussions.
5. Vendor & Platform Interoperability
• Develop working knowledge of key third-party and OEM platforms, including:
o John Deere Operations Center (JD OC)
o Samsara
o OEM telematics and IoT platforms
o SAP S/4HANA
o SAP Ariba and related procurement platforms
• Understand platform capabilities, constraints, APIs, and data models.
• Support evaluation of integration approaches, tradeoffs, and long-term scalability.
• Act as a translator between business stakeholders and vendor technical teams.
6. Testing & Validation
• Author detailed test scenarios and test cases aligned to business processes and
success criteria.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT),
including defect triage and resolution.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet business outcomes, not just technical
completion.
• Confirm readiness for production deployment from an operational perspective.
7. Deployment, Change & Adoption
• Support development of training materials, job aids, SOP updates, and
communications.
• Partner with Change Management and Field Enablement teams to drive adoption.
• Help define and track adoption and usage metrics post-deployment.
• Act as a feedback loop between the field and product teams to inform continuous
improvement.
8. Value & KPI Enablement
• Translate business requirements into measurable KPIs and value metrics (e.g.,
service, utilization, cost, safety, inventory accuracy).
• Support development of ROI models and value realization frameworks.
• Ensure digital solutions are instrumented to measure outcomes, not just activity.
• Help leadership understand how digital capabilities drive tangible business value.
