Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Planning Engineer for a manufacturing client. This individual will serve as the bridge between engineering, production, purchasing, inventory, and logistics to ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently and customer delivery commitments are met.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical manufacturing background combined with production planning expertise. They will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, coordinating materials, generating manufacturing travelers, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring resources are aligned to support production goals.
This person should understand machining, welding, fabrication, inventory control, and ERP-driven manufacturing processes while maintaining visibility into production constraints, material availability, and customer delivery requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn industrial repair and refurbishment processes.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and basic technical documentation.
Basic math and computer skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and adapt to changing customer priorities.
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Continuous Improvement experience
First Part Qualification (FPQ) experience
Experience with warehouse operations and shipping processes
Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience
Experience in custom fabrication or job shop environments
Experience supporting multiple manufacturing departments simultaneously
Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing compliance standards
