Job Description
A lead defense contractor is seeking a Senior MBSE to support a critical uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) development program. This role is tightly coupled to a customer-funded program with defined technical milestones, where successful delivery requires the development, maturation, and submission of a system architecture as part of milestone reviews and customer acceptance.
This engineer will play a key role in helping the program meet contractual deliverables by building and maintaining a robust model-based system architecture that aligns requirements, design, and verification across the system lifecycle. This role will be located in Huntsville, AL requiring onsite attendance and will be paying between ($50-60/hour depending on years of experience).

Required Skills & Experience
10–15 years of Systems Engineering experience, with deep hands-on practice in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Proven MBSE practitioner with extensive experience developing and maintaining system models using Cameo Systems Modeler
Strong proficiency in SysML, including requirements, structural, behavioral, and traceability modeling
Demonstrated ability to build, mature, and evolve system models, not just review or govern them
Experience supporting requirements development, allocation, and end-to-end traceability within a model-based environment
Ability to translate text-based requirements into SysML models and maintain alignment across the system lifecycle
Comfortable working in established or constrained tool environments, including government- or enterprise-approved Cameo versions
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to support engineers, stakeholders, and program teams in applying MBSE practices
