Job Description

Position Overview

The client is seeking a Maintenance Foreman with a strong Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) background to support a simple-cycle gas power plant. This individual will serve as the site lead for maintenance operations, bridging operators, vendors, and OEM support to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a lean operating environment, requiring both technical troubleshooting expertise and coordination of maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead weekly maintenance planning, including task prioritization, manpower allocation, and scheduling
Serve as the first point of contact for operators on maintenance-related issues and escalate as needed
Troubleshoot equipment, controls, and performance issues, with a focus on E&I systems
Act as a liaison with OEMs (e.g., GE) to support remote diagnostics and issue resolution
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to scope, schedule, and execute maintenance work
Determine when work can be handled in-house vs. outsourced and align with vendor management
Ensure maintenance logs, documentation, and site communication are up to date
Oversee contractor activity to ensure timely execution and alignment with job scope

Required Qualifications
~10+ years of experience in:
Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (E&I), or related field

Proven ability to:
Troubleshoot control systems, sensors, and unit performance issues
Communicate technical issues effectively to internal teams and external vendors
Ability to operate in a lean, fast-paced plant environment
Strong coordination and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
Prior leadership or foreman-level experience
Canadian certifications such as:
E&I (Red Seal) or Electrical certification
Experience working in:
Power generation, oil & gas, or industrial facilities
Programming / controls experience:
Ability to navigate systems (e.g., GE toolbox)
Understanding of ladder logic
