Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and modernize our hybrid infrastructure environment with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), VMware virtualization, and infrastructure automation.

This individual will be responsible for administering and supporting Windows and Linux servers, VMware environments, and cloud infrastructure while helping drive infrastructure modernization through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with VMware vSphere technologies, GCP, Terraform, and PowerShell scripting, and is comfortable supporting enterprise environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
· Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.
· Manage VMware infrastructure including vCenter, ESXi, vSphere, virtual machine provisioning, and lifecycle management.
· Perform VM migrations, optimization, and maintenance utilizing VMware technologies such as vMotion and Storage vMotion.
· Administer and support Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services.
· Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating on-premises environments with GCP.
· Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
· Build and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools to streamline provisioning, patching, reporting, and operational tasks.
· Perform server operating system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance activities.
· Monitor infrastructure health, availability, performance, and capacity across server, virtualization, and cloud environments.
· Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related identity services.
· Support networking and firewall administration activities as needed.
· Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and performance issues.
· Maintain accurate technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
· Participate in infrastructure modernization, migration, and automation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

· 7+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Administrator, or similar role.
· Strong experience administering enterprise Windows Server and Linux environments.
· Hands-on VMware administration experience including (vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, ESXi)
· Experience administering and supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
· Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
· Experience building and maintaining PowerShell automation scripts.
· Experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
· Strong understanding of virtualization, server infrastructure, networking fundamentals, and cloud operations.
· Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud-related issues.
· Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and drive infrastructure improvements.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· GCP Cloud Engineer certifications.
· VMware VCP certification.
· Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
· Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
· Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
· Experience supporting enterprise production environments with high availability requirements.
