Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead and optimize manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving efficiency, and partnering cross-functionally to meet customer requirements while achieving or exceeding profit plan and AOP targets.
This role requires a “working manager” who is actively involved in day-to-day operations, leads from the front, and is comfortable navigating both people leadership and tactical execution.
Oversee and coordinate all manufacturing processes to meet plant forecast, budget, and operational goals
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, cost, productivity, safety, and delivery
Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies to improve efficiency and margins
Manage production flow, scheduling, and material planning to improve On-Time Delivery (OTD)
Establish and maintain manufacturing quality standards to meet customer requirements
Develop and manage departmental capital and operating budgets
Evaluate and implement process improvements, equipment upgrades, and operating methods
Partner cross-functionally with HR, EHS, and other leaders to drive alignment and performance
Oversee organizational structure, staffing, training, and development of manufacturing personnel
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong employee relations

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field - (MBA preferred)
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, electronics, or mechanical assembly preferred)
Experience working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams (EHS, Safety, HR, etc.)
Strong technical understanding of manufacturing operations and processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, etc.)
Experience with MRP/ERP systems (BAAN preferred)
Familiarity with workforce/timekeeping systems such as: Kronos or ADP or Ultimate
Strong operational acumen with experience in production line flow and manufacturing processes
Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead both people and processes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong internal stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
High tolerance for ambiguity with the ability to navigate complex, evolving environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environments
Exposure to legacy ERP systems like BAAN
Experience implementing large-scale process improvements or plant transformations
Strong background in building structure within environments that lack process maturity
Type A, driven personality that thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability cultures
Experience navigating and improving challenging or evolving team cultures
