Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized HR/Employee Relations Contractor for a 3-6 month assignment to support our US region. This individual will act mainly as a dedicated coach and guide for people managers navigating complex, low-performance cases.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, handles high-volume workloads with ease, and possesses strong employment law knowledge across US and Canada. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can effortlessly switch contexts between strategic case coaching and cross-functional operational partnership during case resolution and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Management & Case Coaching
• Manager Advisory: Act as the primary point of contact and coach for people managers handling low-performance cases, guiding them through performance improvement plans (PIPs) and fair separation processes.
• High-Volume Execution: Manage a high volume of active cases across multiple jurisdictions, maintaining strict organizational standards, speed, and data confidentiality.
• Thriving in Ambiguity: Proactively identify solutions for challenging personnel scenarios and adapt strategies to evolving regional dynamics.

2. Cross-Functional Partnership & Offboarding Coordination
• Stakeholder Alignment: Partner seamlessly across a matrixed environment with internal Legal, Employee Relations (ER), and HR Business Partner (HRBP) teams to ensure risk mitigation and alignment on case strategies.
• Payroll Collaboration: Interface closely with the regional Payroll team to facilitate final payouts and ensure severance timelines and termination compliance requirements are aligned.
• People Operations Integration: Partner with the People Operations team to ensure offboarding procedures, documentation, and system exits are executed smoothly and efficiently.

3. Regional Travel & Accommodation Logistics
• Travel & Accommodation Support: Coordinate localized travel arrangements related to employee status, medical accommodations, or specific regional case needs.
• Documentation Management: Collect and organize necessary travel documentation from employees, working with external partners for validation as relevant.
• End-to-End Communication: Act as the central liaison, managing communications between the employee, external validation vendors, and the internal Corporate Travel team.

Pay Rate: $15-22/hr

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Ideally 5+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Advisory, or HR Generalist roles, ideally within a fast-paced, multinational environment.
• Jurisdictional Expertise: Proven understanding of employment law, termination frameworks, and offboarding practices in the in US and Canada, with a strong emphasis on India and Singapore.
• Core Competencies:
○ Exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to handle heavy context-switching.
○ Highly collaborative approach with the ability to bridge gaps between Legal, Payroll, and Operations teams.
○ A proactive, solution-oriented mindset when facing ambiguous or complex scenarios.
